A little insight into my journey so far…
I experienced my first yoga class in 1999 and it was instant love. But like any greatlove affair it had its ebbs and flows. Then in 2009, I became very stressed while working with refugees in Thailand due to the high emotional demands and constant striving to promote change within an imperfect system. My body was not happy, my mind jammed withmy to-do-list, and my heart was craving more than what mylife currently offered.
In short, my life was out of balance ~ I gave too much and my body suffered.
So, I left for the island of Koh Phangan to immerse myself in my first month-long yoga intensive. Here I developed a deep personal practice; was intimately connected with nature living in a hut in the forest; and learnt the value of yogabeyond flexibility and a beautiful body.
When I returned to work with yoga now added to my day, my outlook on life drastically improved.
Looking with fresh eyes I saw all around me people who were overworked, depleted and lacking connection to their authentic self. And the style of yoga all around me was the same pushing towards perfectionand disregarding their bodies intheir push to master a certain level.
This led me to on a journey of discovery to blend my two loves: yoga and deep nourishment.
Since 2010 I have been on a journey of what it means to do yoga while being deeply kind towards one’s body, in order to empower, balance and create joy. This search led me to seek phenomenal teachers, to dance, to mediate differently, it led me to India, back to Thailand, to change my relationship to my body, to meet amazing teachers, and to love and connect with my body and deep self through movement.
